However, this morning I found myself staring at these beautifully radiant, purple flowers that bloomed without warning. I would have never expected this and I'm certain that no one else would have either. As I continued to think about this unexpected surprise, I began to see the faces of my two teenage girls. So often I have attempted to bring change to the winter landscape in one of their lives that has been brought on by age, school or friends. With every ounce of time, talent and resource I have, I plant something new then watch with expectation for something, anything. Time passes. Hope waxes and wanes. And then, it's there. Without warning, winter flowers have bloomed at spring and they are beautiful. Radiant. Welcome.
